Comparison of two websites
As comparison of two official website I chose Mako and Flume, two of my favourite artists.
They are both part of
house music including soul and pop. They are both well known but form the
website you can notice that flume must have had a bigger budget or professional
making their website, as part of their marketing.
Their targeted
audience is the same, teenager and young adults.
They both work very
similar, collaborating with different artists to produce their music and
present them online and in tour, concerts and festivals.
The very fist
impression you get from the two website are: for Flume simple and straight
forward, with the use of a bright colour and their new symbol (flower), to show
their style of music, with no necessity of pictures as well known.
They present three
features, buy, listen and get tickets now, all to promote and involve the
audience to buy their music, sponsored items and go to watch them.
Once you click onto
one of those, a new tab opens showing that thaey work with differnt companies,
for exanple Spotify.
They have their own
webpage where you vcan nut very fornitures of them, like CDs, Albums as well
t-shirts with their new symbol.
At the bottom of the
main page they included all the social media you cam find them for extra or
different information.
This shows how updated
they are making their audience feeling closer as they have different way to
contact them or follow them daily. It is common from any artists or band of big
fame, present and be on the main social network, for example Facebook,
Instagram and Twitter.
Mako’s website in
contrast contains more information, having a scroll bar to fit everything in
it.
They have a bar where
you can read their story and contact them, see pictures of previous concerts
and festivals, as well as listen and download their music.
They have a scrolling
of pictures running in the front page showing the artists, and some of their
recent work.
They are making clear
that the visitor of the website knows how the creators of the music, with
picture of them. They are organic as they show the collaboration with different
artists and companies but not changing their style. They image goes into second
place, involving the audience as much as possible into their business and
concentrating on music.
The shades of colours
used are a lot simpler and darker, as sign of simplistic from the two artists. They
present a bar with all the social media in it, as Flume.
They work with
Soundcloud, presenting their own profile to follow in interest. They have a
single page into the website with all their releases in possible download of
it.
The main differences
between those two websites are the quantity of information included, the
organisation of it and how much marketing they are including to sell them self
to the visitors, showing confidence, talent and collaboration with others.
