Feedbacks from the focus group


The other day throughout our media class we had class from the year below giving us feedbacks about our three products; music video, digipak, website.
All this was done in order to see if the look for each of this product will appeal to an actual targeted audience and in case make changes and finalise our products.
We prepared each element at it best at this stage even if not fully finished, and prepared some questions to get response from this mix audience.



The crucial thing was to obtain their full involvement into the respond of the question, and to be as details and specific as possible. Each of the product has been shown separately and related questions to be answered, starting from digipak, website and ending with the music video, considered the least changeable for its footage.
Everything has been filmed and recorded as well as noted to get as many feedbacks as possible.

Key Points Digipak

-       The colour scheme is seen as too dark so it is to consider a possible change of the background black to white.
-       The snake decoration at the back of the digipak was not appreciated as much as other elements but they like the presence of the snakeskin in the interior part of the disk.
-       The design of it appealed to most of the audience and got the right idea of the artist as well as the genre of music (indie pop).



Key Points Website

-       The overall look was appreciated as seemed high end, however we received observations about the colour scheme the incorporation of the green was disliked with the association of the white background so darker tone would appeal more.
-       Instrumental pictures need to be removed as confuse the idea of the artist change its real and wanted representation.
-       The audience like the easy usage of it and the amount of different features incorporated, they express the desire of seeing more pictures of the main artist as well as a verity for both genders in the shop section.



Music Video

The music video was appreciated and considered well produced and edited.
Overall we had a positive respond from the audience as they all express the like and dislike in details giving us useful information for the finalisation ad development of the products. Scheme colour, presence of snake as not fully understood and desire of seeing more graffiti as one of the main featured in the music video, in all three products. This focus group gave us good points where we can carry on the realisation of the project obtain the best result.
