We pitched our idea to
Luke and he positively reacted to it giving us the general permission to carry
on with it and develop it further more.
He liked the uses of
the different set in the studio, as we had clear and precise ideas of what they
would look like, however Luke mentioned that the first location (black
background with pink and blue lights plus the additional use of a smoke
machine) sounds to cliché and it could loose interest toward the end.
So as a group we
should either think of an additional location to intrigue the audience to keep
watching, without getting bored, or add other elements within the existing
location to make them longer for example performances.
Another element that
was questioned was the use of a drummer as the style Indy, gangster doesn’t
involve the use or seen of any instruments in general, so that detailed can be
questioned, however we decided as a group that we should still do a trial
shooting to see the overall effects and if it would work with the beta of song
and the powder idea. We will do the same with the main character in the video
to clarify her performing and acting skills, are good enough to pull of the
look and the attitude need through the whole performing music video.
Luke was pleased with
the fact the we had clear ideas of the casting, making the next process of
finding the right people a lot faster for our group.
We also had a ribbon
idea that we would like to carry on. Even though we do understand the clash of
styles within the music video making the whole, a bit confusing as that element
is a very arty and dramatic, very different from a gangster idea, but still we
are still going to give it a go with a trial, to see the actual effect and if
it works or not. Having an additional elements won’t ruin the whole idea as we
could just don’t’ use or try to incorporated in the actual editing process.
The dancers are proved
as known to be good in the school environment, but they wonder if more people
were thinking to use them, so we needed to make clear they would participate 100%,
with no doubt.
They dancers may look
too young as they are teenager, but we can try to cover this a bit or just get
over it with it.
So overall we have
lots to work with, to develop a good idea and we have lots to think as a group
and to do for the next few weeks, as we want the best result possible.
